nnq : day six

by C5Damani (old head of the movement)

“How refreshing to consume words that have meaning and depth. In the great and honored tradition of wisdom literature and if there is anything that could be called instant wisdom, ‘nigga notes & quotes’ fills that void. This book may be the finest book of quotes, anecdotes, sayings and sage bromides any people struggling for human dignity and liberation will ever read.”

– day six –

Today’s quotes deal with the underwhelming “Blexit” movement by pro-trump, so-called pro-black, conservatives and other. This “black exit” is mainly built out of a dislike or hatred for Barack Obama, Democrats and Liberals. For what reasons, I haven’t the wildest clue nor the intellectual space (actually I choose not to allot the space) to understand the mental acrobatics these so-called pro-black Trumpers are twisting their minds in. Now I am not saying that dissenting views and perspectives on how to achieve our liberation aren’t welcome and/or necessary.

“…although the black movement today is presently faced with conflicting ideologies and personalities (as has always been the case throughout history), those among us who seek true liberation of the masses have the responsibility to search and delve as deeply as our abilities permit, into our oppressed condition, in attempt to adequately seek out a meaningful plan for our liberation. Truly, as numerous others have asserted, there are no blueprints for the black revolutionary struggle. What blacks must have are revolutionary theorists who deal substantively with the political nature and implications of our oppression at every level.”

Black folks like Kanye West, Isaiah Washington, Candace Owens, Paris Dennard and others purport and present themselves as free-thinking revolutionaries, escapees from the “Democrat plantation”, intellectual behemoths mighty enough to break the chains of “mental slavery” and other such notions of “only-I-am-big-enough-and-smart-enough-to-see-the-trickery” of the liberal/progressive agenda. Problem is… the really dangerous issue is… in their posturings and pontifications, they fail to see that their “free-thinking” words and actions mimic, uphold, and prop up white supremacists ideologies, white racists heroes and the oppressors myopic narratives. It is not these folks that I take issue with because…

“…we must begin to relate to concepts and not personalities, take sides on ideologies and not individuals; for it is very easy to discredit an individual, but difficult to discredit a concept or idea.”

H. Rap Brown

I take great displeasure in their ideologies, concepts and ideas. I am “positively displeased” (as Black Panther George Jackson would say) that so-called pro-black Trumpers would readily and willingly parrot the racist and anti-black rhetoric of the folks who have made their livelihoods, reputations and riches on the annihilation of the black masses. These so-called pro-black free-thinkers gleefully support well documented racists such as Donald Trump. How anyone that is for black liberation can then pronounce allegiance and alignment with the creators of the racist system that renders and perpetuates the oppressive conditions for Black America is mind-numbing. Thus…

“…we must identify and struggle against the ignorant and confused within our ranks who become unwitting tools for our continued oppression.”

Interestingly enough, the “Blexit” proponents such as Candace Owens, Isaiah Washington and Kanye West share the same rational and reasoning… settle in as strange bedfellows… with the last political movement that was born out of a hatred for a black man, Barack Obama, becoming the first Black President of the United States. What was that previous political movement you ask, why the proven racist reactionaries known as the Tea Party! Well done, so-called pro-black Trumpers… you have become willing tools for our continued oppression.

*Since most of these quotes were collected prior to 1985 it means some of the authors of these quotes, I have simply forgotten… blame old age! (Ha) When the author is known, I will indicate it. When an author is not indicated, please forgive me and understand. Furthermore, this collection of quotes was first started as a personal endeavor never meant to be shared publicly thus the reason why some authors may not be indicated.
