“How refreshing to consume words that have meaning and depth. In the great and honored tradition of wisdom literature and if there is anything that could be called instant wisdom, ‘nigga notes & quotes’ fills that void. This book may be the finest book of quotes, anecdotes, sayings and sage bromides any people struggling for human dignity and liberation will ever read.”

when describing “nigga notes & quotes”*

– day twenty-seven –

As I approach the end of the 30 days of revolutionary, motivational and inspirational quotes from my book, “nigga notes & quotes”, I saved my most favorites quotes til this point. In my 40yrs of collecting and curating Black empowerment words, bromides, and statements, few encompass the righteous “rage” , as referenced by James Baldwin in his famous quote, that conscious Black people contain within our bodies than the following quote from Black Panther George Jackson.

“…this monster – the monster they’ve endgendered in me will return to torment its maker from the grave, the pit, the profoundest pit. Hurl me into the next existence; the descent into hell won’t turn me. I’ll crawl back to dog his trail forever. I’m part of a righteous people who anger slowly but rage undammed. We’ll gather at his door in such a number that the rumbling of our feet will make the earth tremble. We’re going to charge them for this, 400 years without gratification; we’re going to charge them like maddened, wounded, rogue male elephants, ears flared, trunks raised, trumpets blaring… I’ll do my dance in his chest, and the only thing he’ll ever see in my eyes are daggers to pierce his cruel heart. I am one nigger who is POSITIVELY DISPLEASED. I’ll never forgive, I’ll never forget, and if I’m guilty of anything at all, it’s of not leaning on them hard enough. War without terms!”

*Since most of these quotes were collected prior to 1985 it means some of the authors of these quotes, I have simply forgotten… blame old age! (Ha) When the author is known, I will indicate it. When an author is not indicated, please forgive me and understand. Furthermore, this collection of quotes was first started as a personal endeavor never meant to be shared publicly thus the reason why some authors may not be indicated.
